Three months or more, the DE Rantau Nomad Pass is the move, and Langkawi is a designated DE Rantau hub, so immigration knows the visa on sight. Long-stay questions nomads actually ask
Long-stay rooms at Bambu start from $488 USD per month. Add roughly $300 to $500 for food, local transport and the odd island trip and most nomads run an all-in month comfortably below a comparable Bali or Canggu setup, partly because Langkawi is a duty-free island. Cook some nights, use the co-work instead of paid cafes, and it drops further.
Yes. Most nationalities get visa-free entry for up to 90 days. For longer, the DE Rantau Nomad Pass lets you live in Malaysia while working remotely for non-Malaysian clients for up to 12 months, renewable to a total of 24, with no 30/60-day border-run loop. Langkawi is a designated DE Rantau hub, so the visa is recognised on sight.
We run our own business off it daily, including video calls from the co-work lounge and the villas. Fibre throughout the compound, plus a 4G failover we added after one bad monsoon week so calls do not drop mid-sentence. Guests who come to ship work and reset love it; guests who want a dense party-and-coworking circuit usually pair a month here with a month somewhere louder.
