AC. The pattern is clear: from May through September, AC rooms sleep noticeably better than the open-air options because nights stay warm and humid. The open-air cabins still work for short stays in those months if you’re heat-acclimated, but a 30-night guest in July almost always wants AC. From November through February, nights cool enough that open-air feels right and the breeze through the louvres is the whole point. Tell us your travel month when you book and we’ll match you to the right room rather than guessing.
Private enough that returning guests routinely say it’s the quietest place they’ve stayed in Asia. The compound is laid out across roughly half an acre with cabins spaced through the gardens, not stacked along a corridor. Walls are solid, not partition-thin. You’ll hear birds and the occasional neighbour walking past, not their conversations. We tested the layout against the price point of equivalent boutique rooms in the region and felt the privacy gap was significant. That’s why guests come back. Couples on honeymoon and remote workers on deep-focus blocks both report the same thing.
Yes. The original supplier wasn’t holding up for 30-night guests, so we changed it. The current setup is firm-leaning medium, queen and king depending on room, with hotel-grade linens we launder on-site. Guests staying 30 nights or more are the toughest test of any bed, and we’ve stopped getting the back-pain feedback we used to. If you’re particular. Bad back, side sleeper preferences. Message us before you arrive and we’ll send mattress firmness details and offer a swap if available. Pillows come in two firmness options on request.
Sunset Villa is the largest unit on the compound. A separate villa with paddy view, more living space, and a private outdoor area; it’s our pick for couples who want space or families travelling together. The cabins are smaller, garden-set, and priced lower per night; they’re what most solo travellers and short-stay couples book. We’ve watched honeymooners default to the villa, fitness retreaters to the cabins, and longer-term remote workers split: villa if they’re working from home, cabin if they live in the co-work lounge. Match the room to how much time you’ll spend in it.
The Sunset Villa or the larger cabins work best because they have space for travel cots and pull-outs. The compound is gated, but the gardens are landscaped, not childproofed. If your kids are under five, plan for active supervision around the gardens and koi area. The gym isn’t kid-friendly, but the lawn handles a soccer ball and the rice-paddy walks tire toddlers out fast. Tell us ages and how many adults at booking; we’ll suggest the room layout we’ve seen work and flag anything specific to the months you’re visiting.
